Exploring how humans cultivate agency
through philosophy, science, and artistic expression.

Hello and welcome, I’m Mar!

Between Worlds

I live between worlds.

Between science and art.
Between precision and mystery.
Between reflection, inquiry, and creation.

My path into this work did not begin in a single discipline but in the space between them. Trained as an engineer and drawn equally to philosophy, science, and creative practice, I found myself continually asking the same question: how do human beings develop the agency to shape their lives and contribute meaningfully to the world around them? Over time, my exploration led me through neuroscience and emerging technologies, embodied practices such as yoga and flamenco, and creative expression in art and design. What began as separate interests gradually revealed themselves as parts of a single inquiry. I came to see that human agency grows through a living cycle of reflection, inquiry, and creation, a process through which individuals develop clarity, resilience, and the capacity to contribute to others. This website is both a record of that exploration and an invitation to others who feel called to walk a similar path.

My work explores a simple but powerful question:

How do human beings cultivate the agency to shape their lives and contribute to the world around them?

This website is a living record of that exploration.

Three Paths

Over time, I have come to understand human development as a movement through three complementary paths.

Reflection
The path of philosophy and meaning, where we learn to listen, to observe, and to understand our own experience.

Inquiry
The path of science, where curiosity leads us to explore the structures and systems that shape the mind, the body, and the world.

Creation
The path of artistic and embodied practice, where knowledge becomes expression, discipline becomes art, and experience becomes something we can share.

Together, these paths form a living cycle:

Reflection → Inquiry → Creation

And at the center of that cycle is agency — the quiet power that allows a human being not only to understand life, but to participate in shaping it.

My Background

My professional and creative paths have developed along multiple disciplines that continue to inform one another.

I hold a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and am currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, with a particular interest in neuroscience, human cognition, and the role that emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, may play in supporting human development.

Alongside my scientific interests, I have long been drawn to embodied and creative practices. I am a certified yoga teacher and a dedicated student of flamenco, a discipline that demands rhythm, strength, presence, and emotional expression.

My creative interests also extend into visual art and design, including mandala-based paintings exploring themes such as neuroscience, consciousness, and transformation, as well as fashion design, particularly the upcycling and reinterpretation of flamenco garments through my developing creative project (more information coming soon!)

Vision

I envision a world where individuals cultivate agency through reflection, learning, and creative practice, and where that agency is used not only for personal growth but also for the flourishing of others.

When individuals develop clarity, resilience, and creative capacity, communities become stronger. When communities support their members’ development, individuals thrive.

In this way, the well-being of the parts and the whole become mutually reinforcing.

Mission

My mission is to explore and share practices that help individuals cultivate agency through philosophical reflection, scientific inquiry, and creative expression, while building communities that support creativity, healing, and meaningful contribution.

This work integrates ideas, practices, and creative disciplines to help people move from passive consumption toward active creation.

Core Philosophy

Three Ways of Knowing

My work is guided by the belief that human agency develops through three complementary paths:

Reflection

Understanding ourselves and our experience through philosophy, contemplation, and meaning-making.

Inquiry

Exploring the world through science, learning, and intellectual curiosity.

Creation

Expressing what we discover through creative, embodied, and artistic practice. Together, these paths form a cycle:

Reflection → Inquiry → Creation

Through this process, we learn not only to understand the world but to participate in shaping it.

The Realms of My Work

My projects currently unfold across three interconnected realms.

White Sea Alchemy

A living philosophy of transformation.

This realm explores philosophical reflection and meaning-making — how individuals interpret their experiences, cultivate awareness, and develop personal transformation.

Essential Matter

Intelligent Life Agency.

This work explores the intersection of neuroscience, human cognition, and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to understand how scientific knowledge can support human agency and well-being.

Creative Exploration

Moon & Tide Studio, Flamenco Field Notes, and artistic practice.

Here, I explore creativity through embodied and artistic practice, including flamenco dance, visual art, design, and cultural expression.

Flamenco in particular has become my chosen embodied discipline: a powerful tradition that integrates rhythm, strength, emotional depth, and cultural heritage.

A Personal Invitation

If these ideas resonate with you, I invite you to explore the different realms of the site.

This project is not simply about producing content.

It is about exploring how we can move from consuming to creating, from learning to contributing, and from individual growth to shared flourishing.

Thank you for being here.
